Miami Heat star Dwyane Wade shared his joy via Instagram as his family attended the annual Miami Beach Pride Parade. The family’s first attendance at the event was a beautiful coming-out celebration for the entire family.
UPDATE: Zion has since announced that she wants to be referenced as she and her. Her name is Zaya.
“We support each other with Pride,” Wade wrote on Instagram over a photo of his transgender child, Zaya, who appeared with her stepmom, actress Gabrielle Union.
Over another image, Wade, who was in Toronto for an NBA game, wrote, “Zion had his on [sic] cheering section today. Wish i was there to see you smile kid!” He included a rainbow pride flag emoji on the post.
Zaya and her stepmom were on a float at the LGBTQ pride festival. Other family members, including her big brother, Zaire, 17, and baby sister, Kaavia, were also at the event.
